From beginner yoga poses to holistic healing wisdom — a guide to living beautifully on and off the mat, photographed in the heart of Vermont

Welcome to Your Practice: Why Yoga Is More Than a Workout — It's a Lifestyle
Whether you're just discovering your first yoga poses for beginners or you're a seasoned practitioner curating your yoga aesthetic inspiration for your vision board, yoga is one of the most transformative wellness practices in the world. I reflect most days on how yoga has singled handedly changed my life in so many ways (all for the best). It really is the best thing I do every day for myself.
And yoga doesn't exist in a vacuum. The modern wellness world has expanded beautifully — weaving together energy healers, acupuncturists, alternative medicine practitioners, and holistic healers into a rich tapestry of self-care. As a Vermont-based photographer at Bhauz Productions (www.bhauzproductions.com), I've had the honor of capturing this world — the quiet beauty of a sunrise warrior pose, the intimate warmth of a healing session, and everything in between. It's my absolute favorite kind of session.
This guide is your one-stop destination for yoga inspo, photoshoot ideas, outfit aesthetic tips, and a deeper dive into the holistic healing arts that complement your practice.

Beautiful Yoga Poses for Beginners (That Are Also Photoshoot-Ready)
One of the most asked questions from people starting their yoga journey is: where do I begin? The good news is that the most photo-friendly yoga poses are often the most accessible ones. Here are the foundational poses that look stunning in photos AND feel incredible in your body. You could do just these 5 poses to start and branch out from there. There are no rules. Just to listen to your breath and connect to your body.
1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana) — The Foundation This grounding posture is the starting point for almost every standing sequence. It looks deceptively simple, but captures beautifully. Stand tall, feet hip-width apart, palms forward. Feel the earth beneath you. Think of a string gently pulling you upwards siting directly in the center of your head. This is a go-to for yoga pictures and yoga day posters because of its clean, powerful silhouette.
2. Warrior I & II — Strength Meets Grace If you're looking for yoga poses aesthetic shots that radiate power and intention, Warrior I and II are your best friends. Arms extended, gaze forward, deep lunge — these poses create dramatic lines and incredible yoga images that work perfectly for Instagram, Pinterest, and yoga vision boards. They also feel amazing.
3. Tree Pose (Vrksasana) — Balance & Beauty Tree pose is practically made for the outdoors. Photographed among Vermont's maples or beside a mountain lake, this classic balancing posture creates yoga inspiration photos that feel timeless and ethereal. Great for anyone building a yoga body practice centered on balance and focus. A must have in daily my practice.
4. Child's Pose (Balasana) — Rest as Practice Rest is not the opposite of yoga — it IS yoga. Child's pose is deeply restorative and photographs with a quiet, meditative quality. It has become one of my all time favorite poses and I do it ever day. For wellness brands, healers, and yoga teachers, this pose communicates ease and safety — perfect for websites and brand imagery.
5. Seated Forward Fold & Pigeon Pose — Flexibility Goals For those working toward beautiful yoga poses that show flexibility and surrender, seated forward fold and pigeon are top picks. These are popular for yoga photoshoot ideas because the body forms long, flowing lines that translate beautifully on camera. Not to mention it's my all time #1 favorite pose.
Yoga Outfit Aesthetic: Dress for Your Practice & Your Photos
Your yoga outfit aesthetic matters — not just for your posts, but because feeling good in what you wear genuinely elevates your practice. The right yoga outfit for women moves with you, breathes with you, and photographs beautifully in natural light.
Alo Yoga Outfits The reigning queen of yoga aesthetic fashion. Alo yoga sets and alo yoga outfits photograph stunningly — clean lines, earthy tones, and high-performance fabrics that hold their shape through every pose. Their neutral palette works especially well in outdoor Vermont sessions. They are also wicked comfy.
Yoga Pants Outfit Styling A quality yoga pants outfit is versatile — from the studio to a coffee shop to a nature photoshoot. Pair high-waisted leggings with a cropped longline bra or an oversized linen top for that effortless yoga inspo look that's all over Pinterest right now.
Yoga Fits for Teachers & Creators If you're a yoga teacher building your brand, your wardrobe is part of your aesthetic. Think cohesive color palettes — sage, terracotta, cream, dusty rose. These tones complement Vermont's landscapes and create a strong, recognizable visual identity for your content and yoga teacher aesthetic.
Mat Aesthetic Matters Too Your yoga mat aesthetic is a key prop in any photoshoot. Choose a mat that complements your outfit — a natural cork mat for earthy vibes, or a classic black or olive mat for sleek editorial looks. The mat sets the ground tone (literally) for your entire yoga photoshoot.

Yoga Photoshoot Ideas: What to Expect & How to Prepare
As a Vermont photographer specializing in lifestyle and wellness photography, I work with yoga teachers, healers, wellness entrepreneurs, and everyday people who simply want beautiful yoga pictures to remember their journey. Here's everything you need to know before your session.
Location — Vermont's Natural Magic Vermont is an extraordinary backdrop for yoga and wellness photography. From misty meadows at golden hour to lakeside reflections and forest clearings — the landscapes here give your yoga images a painterly, editorial quality you simply can't replicate in a studio.
Timing — Golden Hour is Everything For the most ethereal, glowing yoga aesthetic inspiration shots, schedule your session during the hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset. Soft, directional light turns even simple poses into gallery-worthy yoga inspiration photos.
Preparation — Move How You Actually Move The most stunning yoga pictures come from authentic movement. Don't try to perform your most advanced pose right away — warm up, breathe, flow naturally. I'll capture the real moments between the "perfect" poses, and those are often the most beautiful.
Storytelling — Your Yoga Story Every yoga practitioner has a yoga story — what brought you to the mat, what keeps you there, what the practice gives you. We build your session around that story. Whether it's a meditative solo practice or a vibrant yoga routine with your students, we'll tell it authentically.
Branding — Content for Your Vision Board & Brand Yoga teachers and wellness professionals need consistent, high-quality imagery for websites, social media, and yoga day posters. A single session with Bhauz Productions can provide months of cohesive yoga aesthetic content for every platform.
What to Bring — Pack Light, Dress Intentionally Bring 2–3 outfit options (think alo yoga outfit levels of intention), your mat, any meaningful props (crystals, singing bowls, journals), and an open heart. Everything else — the light, the landscape, the magic — we've got covered.
Creating a Yoga Routine & Vision Board That Actually Works
One of the most powerful things you can do for your yoga practice is to intentionally design it — not just show up and go through the motions, but curate a yoga routine and a visual yoga vision board that keeps you inspired, accountable, and excited. (I know for me, thinking about how amazing I will feel after a session is enough for me to roll out the mat... and I even crave it).
1. Start with Your "Why" Before you map out poses or buy another alo yoga set, get clear on why you practice. Is it for stress relief? Flexibility? Community? Spiritual connection? Your "why" determines everything — your schedule, your style, the healers you work with, and the community you build around yourself.
2. Build Your Visual Yoga Aesthetic Inspiration Board Collect yoga inspiration photos, outfit references, location imagery, quotes, and images of the healers, teachers, and practitioners who inspire you. Maybe it's a pose you want to work towards, or sit for an hour meditation. Whether it's a physical board or a Pinterest board, your yoga vision board should make you feel excited about your practice every time you look at it.
3. Design a Consistent Morning Yoga Routine Research consistently shows that morning movement sets the tone for the entire day. A 20–30 minute yoga routine before breakfast — even just sun salutations, a seated meditation, and a forward fold — can dramatically improve mood, focus, and energy levels throughout the day. Only have 5 minutes? That's all you need (and I bet you're on phone for longer...).
4. Integrate Holistic Support Layer in complementary practices over time. Work with an acupuncturist monthly for energetic maintenance. See an energy healer seasonally. Consult with an herbalist about supporting your nervous system. Build a village of alternative medicine practitioners around your yoga practice and watch everything deepen.
5. Document Your Journey Your yoga journey is worth documenting — not just for social media, but for yourself. Professional yoga photography from a session with Bhauz Productions gives you tangible proof of how far you've come, and provides gorgeous imagery for your website, brand, or simply to hang on your wall as a reminder of your beautiful yoga body and spirit in motion.
International Yoga Day: How to Honor Your Practice All Year
International Yoga Day falls on June 21st each year — the summer solstice, the longest day of light. It's a global celebration of an ancient practice that has touched hundreds of millions of lives. But the spirit of yoga day doesn't have to be limited to one date on the calendar.
Book a Yoga Photoshoot Celebrate your practice with professional yoga photoshoot ideas brought to life by yours truly (you know I'd love that so much!). A session in Vermont's stunning landscapes is the ultimate yoga day gift to yourself. I know all the best spots.
Host a Wellness Gathering Invite your community for a sunrise flow, followed by sound healing, sharing, and connection. Bring in an energy healer or local acupuncturist to offer mini sessions and expand everyone's exposure to holistic healing.
Create Yoga Day Posters Design yoga day posters for your studio, community board, or social media using your professional yoga photos. High-quality imagery from a professional shoot elevates every piece of content you create.
Start Your Yoga Story Write it down. Your yoga story — how you found yoga, what it's given you, where it's taking you — is worth capturing. Pair your written story with a gallery of yoga images and you have a powerful piece of personal brand content.
